A Feedfonvard Compensation Scheme for High Gain Wideband amplifiers
نویسندگان
چکیده
A No-Capacitor FeedFonvard (NCFF) compensation which uses pole-zero cancellation to obtain high gain, high GBW and a good phase margin is proposed. Left half plane (LHP) zeros produced due to feedforward path cause a +90° shift in the phase and are used to cancel the -90" shifts in the phase caused by the poles. A hlly differential OTA using the NCFF compensation scheme has been designed using AMI 0 . 5 ~ technology; dc gain of 97 dB, GBW of 325 MHz, settling time of 5 ns and phase margin of around 90" are achieved.

Wideband Low Distortion, High Gain Operational Amplifier
The OPA643 provides a level of speed and dynamic range previously unattainable in a monolithic op amp. Using a de-compensated voltage feedback architecture with two internal gain stages, the OPA643 achieves exceptionally low harmonic distortion over a wide frequency range. The "classic" differential input provides all the familiar benefits of precision op amps, such as bias current cancellation...

Opamp gain: The main difficulty in building a very high frequency opamp-RC filter is achieving sufficient opamp gain at the filter comer frequency. With the transfer function used here, 34 dB opamp gain results in 1 dB peaking and 30 dB opamp gain results in 2 dB peaking at the comer frequency. (This includes overcoming a 2 dB reduction in loop gain due to capacitance at the opamp input.) A con...
متن کاملLow Power Compensation Technique for Process Variations in Sub Micro CMOS Amplifiers
Process variation is an obstacle in designing reliable CMOS mixed signal systems with high yield. To minimize the variation in voltage gain due to variations in process, supply voltage, and temperature for common trans conductance-based amplifiers, we present a new compensation method based on statistical feedback of process information. We further apply our scheme to two well known amplifier t...
متن کاملA Robust Feedforward Compensation Scheme for Multistage Operational Transconductance Amplifiers With No Miller Capacitors
A multistage operational transconductance amplifier with a feedforward compensation scheme which does not use Miller capacitors is introduced. The compensation scheme uses the positive phase shift of left-half-plane (LHP) zeroes caused by the feedforward path to cancel the negative phase shift of poles to achieve a good phase margin. A two-stage path increases further the low frequency gain whi...
متن کاملDesign Considerations for Wideband CMOS Amplifiers
Time-domain responses of wideband CMOS amplifiers using several inductive peaking techniques are presented. Transient performance considerations are described including the effects of transistor parasitics on settling time, edge rates, etc. A combination of timeand frequency-domain performance is derived for a given bandwidth extension technique and tradeoffs are discussed. Measured results for...
